NEPSE Share Commission Calculator

Broker commission, SEBON fee, DP charge, and capital gains tax on a NEPSE trade.

These commission slabs and tax rates are tentative, not official — SEBON revises them from time to time. Always verify current rates with your broker or a SEBON circular before relying on this for real trading decisions.

Enter a buy price, sell price, quantity, and holding period to calculate broker commission, SEBON regulatory fee, DP charge, capital gains tax, and net profit or loss on a Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) trade.

What's included in the calculation

  • Broker commission — applied to the trade value on both a buy and a sell, using the tiered rate table for the security type you pick.
  • SEBON regulatory fee — a percentage of trade value that varies by security type.
  • DP charge — a flat fee per transaction from the depository participant.
  • Capital gains tax — only on a Sell where you've entered your original buy price, and only on an actual gain — short-term and long-term rates differ.

Frequently asked questions

Are these rates accurate right now?

They're a reasonable starting point, not a guarantee — SEBON (Securities Board of Nepal) revises broker commission slabs and capital gains tax rates from time to time, and this calculator can only be as current as the numbers it's configured with. Always cross-check against a recent SEBON circular or your broker's own statement before relying on this for tax filing.

Why does the form change when I switch from Buy to Sell?

A buy only involves the cost to acquire shares — commission, SEBON fee, and DP charge, paid to your broker every time you trade. A sell involves those same charges again on the sale, plus (if you enter your original buy price) capital gains tax on any profit — so Sell shows the extra holding-period and buy-price fields a Buy doesn't need.

What's the difference between short-term and long-term capital gains tax?

Nepal taxes profit on shares held for a shorter period at a higher rate than shares held longer. Choose whichever matches how long you actually held the shares — if you're not sure, count from your original purchase date to today.

Do Mutual Fund and Bond trades use the same rates as Equity?

No — each security type has its own broker commission slabs and SEBON fee percentage, switchable with the tabs above the calculator. The commission rate table further down shows all three side by side.

Is my trade data uploaded anywhere?
