Where Lorem Ipsum comes from
Lorem Ipsum is a scrambled version of a passage from De finibus bonorum et malorum ("On the Ends of Good and Evil"), written by the Roman philosopher Cicero in 45 BC. Words were cut, shortened and rearranged, so the text looks like Latin but doesn't mean anything. It became standard filler in the 1960s on Letraset transfer sheets and spread further with desktop publishing software in the 1980s.
